Thai Nite: Success We have a big night for our second annual Thai Nite. More than 100 tickets sold, and all dishes are gone in an hour. Without a lot of help and cooperations from our NU friends and Reynolds club staff, we would not be as successful as tognight. Date and Tickets The certain date of the show will be on Saturday May 22, the next day after Summer Breeze. Tickets will be on sale on the week of May 17 until May 20. Tickets can also be bought at door on the night of the show Meeting 4/17/99 This meeting is set up to discuss a progress of the upcoming Thai Nite. The date has not been settled yet since on the reserved date Wat Dhammaram can not give full cooperation for the show. The Wat Dhammaram prefers Saturday instead of Friday because the performers will not get tired after school and work. The club's coordinator has contacted to change the date, but no response has been informed yet. For all kind of Thai food on that night, the Star of Siam Restaurant will be responsible to give their delicious Thai dishes in as good in prices as they did last year. We got subsidize from SG $600 which is $200 lower from last year. Too bad! We also got sponsor for almost $200 from Thai Buffet and Siam Restaurant. This year, the only income will come from selling tickets that will cost $6 for student and $8 for non-student. There are some changes to the performance: there will be no Thai free Ram-Wong dance at the end of the night; and there will be no performance from UofC students. All performances are from Wat Dhammaram. The plan for next week of 4/19/99 We will meet again at Room 001 in Reynolds Club to work on decorations. (always start early on this kind of stuff.) Jay will buy all equipment and supplies and bring them to Room 001. The time will be announced via e-mail. For a flyer, a computer expert (geek) :), Kit, will be responsible. A pamphlet will be created after schedule on that night is known. Meeting The coming meeting is on this Wednesday, Jan 13. We will discuss about whther or not to have a Thai Cultural Show for the second time this spring. Also, we are going to ski trip this weekend or not. The place is Oui and Kit's apt. The time is 7:45 pm. Summary of the Meeting on 1/13/99 "Thai Nite" is on its way. We are going to work on our one and only major event again this year! Spread the words if someone ask you :) Oui and Morn will be responsible for the sponsors. The president will make a "reconnection" with the Pechluck family and P'Daeng. Hopefully, he will come up with a general outline of how the performance and the whole picture of the event can be done. The official number of the tickets remains the same this year (100 five-dollar-tickets), though we expect ~130 will be sold. The date of the event is tentatively scheduled one week before the Summer Breeze, leaving the Breeze week itself a time for us to sell Thai food (loook shint?) and , hey, make some money! As soon as we have made a certain progress on the preparation, The time for our next meeting will be announced to everyone later.
